Medieval gaming

Inspired by recent reading-
I set up a game. The men of the North islands and high lands have made another invasion in search of plunder-

Stout yeomen have gathered to defend the Little Kingdom-
The camp  is defended against the wild invaders-
More photos of the game later...

  1. Nice! I recall doing something similar in my teenage years using the Airfix Robin Hood figures (some adapted with a little of my then ham-fisted conversion work!)

  2. My money's on the hairy outlanders. I like the tents - are they your own creation?

  3. I think the tents were in a pdf in b&w which I printed out coloured and mounted on card. They have come in handy for loads of periods and are quite effective I feel...
ps outlanders were driven off in the end after a fun game...

  5. My money's on the stout yeomen, even if they are portly fellows (are there ever any slender yeomen, one wonders?).
I too like the tents. The map is charming - from a novel?

  6. The map is from JRR Tolkien's "Farmer Giles of Ham" which is an excellent read if you don't know it.
